About me

I'm Daya, a Chennai-based visual artist working in watercolour and gouache.

My work is a deliberate offering of beauty and tenderness to a bruised world that hungers for both. I paint divinity not as icons to be worshipped from a distance but as beings capable of love, intrigue, softness, play and joy, within immersive landscapes.

I invoke my Gods by rendering their most tender forms with layer upon layer of meditative, reverentially-applied pigment. In hopes that what you see holds your mind and heals your heart, because to me awe is a form of prayer.
Beauty is love made visual. I paint it as an act of intention in a world that has forgotten it. And remembering is an act of care.
